The Entry Level Tax Accounting Analyst will support tax accounting, reporting, and compliance activities across a complex, multi-jurisdictional regulated utility environment. This role will prepare tax accruals, support state and local tax filings, reconcile tax-related accounts, assist with audits and financial close activities, and help strengthen internal controls as the organization continues to grow.

Responsibilities

• Prepare tax accruals and maintain supporting calculations and workpapers.
\n
• Prepare and file state and local tax returns, including sales and use tax filings.
\n
• Support property tax reporting and compliance activities.
\n
• Reconcile tax-related general ledger accounts and investigate discrepancies.
\n
• Support month-end and year-end close activities related to tax accounting.
\n
• Prepare documentation and respond to information requests supporting tax audits.
\n
• Monitor tax filing deadlines and maintain accurate compliance records.
\n
• Research applicable tax regulations and requirements across multiple jurisdictions.
\n
• Maintain tax documentation, schedules, and supporting financial records.
\n
• Support the development and improvement of tax processes and internal controls.
\n
• Collaborate with Accounting, Finance, and other stakeholders on tax reporting and compliance requirements.

Qualifications

\n
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
\n
• 1–3+ years of accounting, tax, or related professional experience.
\n
• Experience preparing tax accruals, reconciliations, or supporting tax filings.
\n
• Knowledge of state and local tax compliance processes.
\n
• Experience with general ledger account reconciliations and financial close activities.
\n
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
\n
• Experience working with ERP or financial accounting systems.
\n
• Exposure to state and local tax (SALT) requirements preferred.
\n
• Utility, energy, or regulated industry experience preferred.
\n
• CPA certification or active progress toward CPA certification preferred.
