Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) – New Pharmacy (North Las Vegas, NV)

Ground-Floor Leadership Opportunity | Flexible, Minimal-Hour Commitment Initially

About the Role:

We are a new pharmacy in North Las Vegas, Nevada, that has already received approval at the board meeting and is now preparing for its final inspection. We are seeking a Nevada-licensed Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) to serve as our designated PIC for this critical pre-opening phase.

This is an ideal position for a pharmacist who values flexibility, wants a low-stress side commitment, or is looking to add a leadership designation to their professional portfolio.

What Makes This Role Unique:

A new pharmacy requires a licensed PIC before it can be inspected, but there are no daily operations or staffing hours to manage until the pharmacy is credentialed with insurances and ready to open. Our proposal is structured to reflect this reality:

Phase 1: Pre-Opening & Inspection (The Initial Engagement)

• Your Role: Serve as the designated PIC for the Nevada Board of Pharmacy inspection and PBM credentialing. All policies and procedures are already completed. You are not required to review documents, fill prescriptions, or staff the pharmacy, because the pharmacy is not yet open.
• Time Commitment: Minimal. You must be available to attend the Board of Pharmacy inspection and the DEA visit, and provide your license, ID, and other credentialing documents requested by the PBMs.
• Compensation: Flat monthly PIC fee of $1,000 base , with modest adjustment based on the level of inspection and credentialing involvement agreed upon.

Phase 2: Post-Credentialing & Opening (Your Choice)

Once the pharmacy is fully credentialed and ready to open its doors, you will have two clear options:

• Option A: Transition to an Hourly Role. If you wish to work in the pharmacy, you can transition into a standard hourly pharmacist position and manage day-to-day operations.
• Option B: Remain PIC with a Monthly Fee. You can choose to retain the PIC title and oversight responsibility for a flat monthly fee while another pharmacist is hired to work on an hourly basis under your supervision.

REQUIRED ELIGIBILITY DISQUALIFIER:

Candidates who worked as a PIC or staff pharmacist at a pharmacy that lost its PBM contract with any payer—including but not limited to Optum Rx, CVS Caremark, or Express Scripts—while they were employed there are not eligible for this position. This restriction protects the new pharmacy’s PBM credentialing and network participation.

Qualifications:

• Active, unrestricted Nevada pharmacist license in good standing (Required).
• PharmD degree.
• Must have a clean history regarding PBM network participation.
